I'm glad you enjoyed it! I enjoy putting up the videos, too.
My son was 'Jack' in the first video, and the initial pianist (Schroeder, since it's a song from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown") in 'Beethoven Day.' (A second pianist takes over after 30 seconds or so.)
Joey took three SATs yesterday. Today, he's at a friends graduation party, but I have to go get him in a few minutes. In less than two hours, we go to a nearby church where another friend is having her Senior Recital on the euphonium - which is a small tuba, rare enough that my spellchecker doesn't recognize the word. Joey is her accompanist.
On Thursday, the cast of Mary Poppins is having a practice in preparation for a performance they're giving at an awards ceremony on Saturday. So he has to brush up on Supercalifragilousdiexpialodocious. (I probably spelled that wrong. The spell-checker doesn't like it either.) The ceremony is Saturday.
Also on Saturday, he has to have 21 piano pieces down pat for a paid job. A local vocal coach hired him to be the accompanist for her students' recitals.
On the 15th, he's performing an a capella piece that a friend arranged. It's a Billy Joel song I didn't know, so I'm looking forward to that. A day later, the Seniors graduate, and he's heading out with the choir to do the Star Spangled Banner.
MEANWHILE, there's the thing I already mentioned about getting an arrangement he wrote published. Then he won a summer scholarship to Radford University, so we'll be sending him away for a month.
A teacher has already asked him if, when he gets back, he'll be the pianist for the school's summer musical, 'Big.' He's going to decline. He'll only have been back for a week when the show is performed and won't be prepared. I think that maybe folks don't realize the WEEKS of practice that pianists have to put into something like that.
So he's pretty busy. That's okay. It keeps him out of trouble.
