As I reflect upon my life, and remember those times of long ago, getting onboard my last flight home, I remember friends of mine whose not last flight, but also their final flight home was taken.
Not much has changed during the history of our nation as those who were willing to sacrifice their very lives for love of country, sense of duty, to defend and protect the civilians and if so be, lay down their lives in fulfilling their honor and their duty.
I see the faces as I have seen their names on the wall and my heart aches and yet I am proud of them because they gave everything they had, even their own life, so we could enjoy ours. And they did it gladly.
On behalf of a grateful soldier, a civilian today too old to do what once I could, I salute my fallen brothers who will not be forgotten, but will always be remembered with pride, and honor, and utmost respect.
SEMPER FI my brothers. I miss you and pray that almighty GOD has given you perfect peace and rest in glory where I shall see you again and we will have a reunion.
THANK YOU veterans for your courage, your honor and duty every single day. God bless you all and keep you!
