De
I am very happy to hear that :
1. you all went to get her checked out and
2. That the docs have said she will be okay.

Pay attention to the day after affect, especially with the head. Back in the mid 80's I was hot by a drunk.

Unlike your wife, I did not go to the e.r. to get checked out because other than the little bit of soreness I had and anger knowing this guy was stone drunk, I just wanted to get home.

The next day wife and I went to a store in Cincinnati to look at furniture, a 20 mile drive.

On way back I began to feel really weird as I was driving and then I everything went very blurry. I could not see. Obviously I had pulled over.

My wife took over and we went straight to our doctor's office and he sent us straight on to hospital for a scan of my head.
Turned out I had a severe CONTUSION in the back of my brain. Yes, literally the brain .

The back of my head hit the headrest so hard it actually slammed my brain into the skull and bruised it. It affected my eyesight and equiabrium for several days.

But NOT UNTIL THE DAY AFTER......

Check on your wife again tomorrow all day and see if there are delayed symptoms, which do happen very often, especially from being slammed unexpectedly in the read end of a sitting vehicle.

I do hope she will be alright but take no chances.

My best to you all and I will pray for her tonight..

My best,

micro.... Very Happy

We were just talking about accidents because of micro's close call over the weekend, and today my wife was rear-ended by a 24-year-old kid driving the company van. She was at a light; it turned green; she took her foot off the brake and WHAAAM!

I guess the guy behind her wasn't a big fan of the 5-second rule.

The van took very little damage. The bumper looks a bit loose and is clearly pushed in. My wife, on the other hand, has been experiencing numbness in her face and ear. Not much pain, but the back of her head hurts - where it slammed into the headrest.

She said the kid was furious that she called the police. I asked her if he was at all apologetic. She said "No. He was just angry."

On the brighter side, while she was standing next to her car, my wife spotted something a few feet away in a ditch. She waited until the police and the kid were chatting, then walked over and picked up a 100 dollar bill. I guess that's one of the silver linings in this story.

The other is that the doctors checked her out and pronounced my wife fit. They think the stress spiked her blood pressure causing the numbness. If she takes it easy, in a day or two the effects of the accident should wane.
