have changed and tuition rates have skyrocketed.

...the prices went up because the demand went up. The demand went up because so many people have become professional students going on somebody else's dime.

Re: ”Did they ever hear of WORKING PART TIME while attending school to help pay off the debt??“

While I did this - and emerged from college with no debt - times have changed and tuition rates have skyrocketed. Moreover, I went to a pretty easy school in the California State University system. Had I gone to the other, more-prestigious local university, U.C. Davis, it would have been a different story. You'll have to take my word for this, but NOBODY carrying a full load at Davis works part time. You can't do that and still expect to get good grades. It doesn't happen.

BTW, here in Virginia, two years of community college costs more than three times what I spent on my 4-year degree (which involved two years of community college.) But Virginia isn't California . . . and education inflation has been brutal since my college days.
