re: "Anyone want to start a car company with me???"

Yup. I've often wondered why none of the car companies have considered re-issuing some of the styles that are now regarded as masterpieces. Sure, they'd have to be upgraded for safety... and they might want to use different materials in order to save money, but still: Who wouldn't want to own one of these??

Has anyone else ever wondered like I do sometimes WHY is it that a car company cannot or does not just MAKE the same car a few years in a row and just make a refinement or tweak to something? THink of the tooling SAVINGS alone plus the car buying public would get a better version of the model if they simply kept the body style the same.

Look at Checker cars which are used for TAXIS.

THEY lasted and ran forever!!!! They were made the same year after year.

When you have a great mechanical vehicle, why do we keep tinkering and changing the sheet metal and chassis??

I suppose I just don;t get it but believe we could dramatically lower the price of a new car by following this simple model.......

WHat do you think?

Anyone want to start a car company with me???
