While I've never been a fan of Trump, I have I ever been a fan of the ultra-right wing Republicans. For a disproportionate number of them, there is only one issue. abortion. This is their only issue and despite turning off the majority of Americans, nothing else matters to them. These people are lined up directly behind Ted Cruz and this is the face that Americans see on Cruz. This is in part why Ted Cruz would lose BADLY to Hillary.
Kasich is a fine man and by all accounts, a terrific manager. So was Mitt Romney. Too little, too late. Americans are WAY past this. If this goes to a brokered convention, the insiders will be looking for someone who will maintain the status quo, keep the hacks working and the power in place.....Kasich, Bush, Romney or Ryan. More than half of Republicans will not stand for this and IMO, NONE of the "Status Quo candidates anointed by McConnell and Co. will beat Hillary.
I believe that if the pulseless old line Republicans steal this nomination from Trump, the party will split in two and I will be moving on with the Trump group.
