I was with you right up until the end. But the quoted sentence above suggests that you might not know what's involved.

Unless your plan includes defaulting on Social Security and Medicare obligations...

If you do that, then it might be possible to repay the debt in 8 years. But you'd kill a lot of people in the process. Would you have the stomach for that?

The only other way I think you could actually repay what we owe would be to monetize the debt. That is, to print enough money to pay it all off. I'm sure you can guess what the side effects of that would be.

Or will be, since that's what the powers that be are striving for today. Monetization of debt is the big Keynesian plan. It involves screwing over a huge number of people, but that's okay to the leftists because they think that the victims can afford it.

well captain,

everyone on that thread certainly seem to be in Trump's camp!!!

I still prefer a Constitutionalist who will return the country back to what made it the greatest nation by simply following the ultimate LAW of the Land, the Constitution. Not as interpreted by liberals , progressives, and others, but in the plain, simple, easy to read and understand language it was intentionally written in.

Return the Federal government to the size it should be, eliminate all the bureaucratic jobs and money suckers in worthless, needless departments, pay off the DEBT with the savings and restore the money to the Social Security fund the Congress Critters STOLE from it to pay for programs they could not afford, using OUR money to do so....

I can balance easily the Budget and Repay the DEBT and return the stolen money in maybe about eight years.

Guaranteed.
