While I agree in principle with Jim Willie's warning, I take it with a grain of salt. "End Game" warnings have been issued by the various pundits for 15 years - and, while the situation we're in keeps getting worse, the End Game still hasn't happened. Every prediction that tries to get specific has been proven wrong.
One thing that's become clear to me is that nobody knows when the collapse will happen. I attribute it to the ENORMOUS wealth of our country. Pillaging what we've got in order to sustain ourselves can continue for a very long, totally unpredictable amount of time. And there are an awful lot of very smart (but highly unethical) people intent on prolonging the pillaging for as long as they possibly can.
My theory - and I'm sticking to it - is that collapse is inevitable but it can manifest itself either as a gradually declining surface that approaches a precipice, or as a sloping hillside that eventually turns vertical. The former is far more likely. It means that people will go to bed one night with things still seeming to be okay, but when they wake in the morning their economic world will have ended and most people will have lost everything.
That's not good, although it does mean that a recovery will come sooner. For people who have made a significant effort to prepare, it might be the better scenario. For everyone else, it will be the worst of all situations... probably not survivable. Just ask yourselves how long most people could live if stores and gas stations had NOTHING available and assistance was not to be found.
I'd say three weeks, at most.
