...the last land line problem I had was a no dial tone thingy. I reported it three times and all three times they tested it, saw no trouble and closed the ticket without making contact with me. I drove up to the local telephone bldg and walked into a second levels office unannounced and told him what had happened. He made a call and got a dispatch pretty soon after that and they fixed the problem. The drop had one of them round balls that is used to splice em together and when it got warm, the contacts went open. They replaced the drop. I remember a time when the trouble wasn't fixed until the customer said it was fixed./

I trid to use my cell phone this
morning and it was shut down. It
kept telling me it could only make
emergency calls. I came home and
tried to use Mom's landline phone.
There was no dial tone. I came over
here and found the phone here was
working. I spent an hour on the
phone and finally found out I had
to power down the cell phone. When
it came back on line, it was working.
I tried to report the land line
trouble but was told I had to call
a different number. After spending
a long time I was finally told that
there are some local problems and
that the land line should be back
up by next Tuesday. I guess that
phone service is just not that
important anymore. Oh well, it
only took three to four hours to
get this far along.
