Well, there ARE intelligent people in government. You'll never catch me saying that Bill Clinton is dumb. He's not. He is, by all accounts, brilliant. Unethical as hell, but brilliant.
Without a doubt, the people who BELIEVE all the tripe spouted by pro-government fans (progressives) are idiots. Total morons. But the politicians who initiate it? Some of them are incredibly intelligent, unethical, self-serving bastards. They don't believe a word of what they're saying but they say it anyway.
That said, you're still right. When I referred to "intelligent people" I was thinking of those who are smart enough to know the kind of trouble our economic system is in. They've either bought gold or are buying it now.
And when I referred to government, I was thinking of the government insiders who know what they're about to do and are buying up gold before they do it.
I didn't for a second mean to suggest that the intelligent people are the government types. That's usually NOT going to be the case!
