...thing is if one turd picks on us and we do nothing it won't be long before every turd on the playground is taking a shot at us. What Im looking for is when a couple of terrorists say, "Let's do something to America". I want his buddies to ask him if he saw what happened to the last crowd that did that. Walk softly and carry a limp schlong are not negotiating tools. The bayonet must be included in our bag of DIPLOMATIC tools.

re: " I'd be happy as crap if we had the kind of president who would make the consequences of terrorism against america to be so horrible as to make the act unthinkable."

I'd be happy as crap if we'd stop fussing so much about terrorism. After all, we're spending TRILLIONS fighting something that has no clear game plan and has killed 5,000 and injured 22,000 people in the U.S. SINCE ABRAHAM LINCOLN.

I'm getting my numbers here: http://www.johnstonsarchive.net/terrorism/wrjp255a.html

I'll admit that the numbers are a little low because foreign attacks on Americans aren't included, but I don't think their inclusion would change my conclusion at all.

Here's my point. We've spent something like $400 million per American killed in a terrorist attack. Probably more since I'm just guessing that we've spent $2 trillion, and I know it's more than that. The Iraq war alone was $1.7 trillion.

$400 million is way, way, WAY too much.

And there's no winning it anyway since the targets are ever changing. We may as well call it "the war on evil" or "the war on people we don't like."
