De
another problem ya might not have considered is that it is very difficult to insulate one of these compared to a house. I am sure you will have some frigid temps in the winter there.

I have owned three of the steel buildings in my lifetime. Large ones with 100 foot wide clear spans.

Even though we had the ceilings and sidewalls "insulated" they were always cold in winter and hot in summer. And I even had air conditioned the factory.....

Those are very good prices btw.... I am assuming the roof is standing seam galvalum.

Ya might not like the smell of the BARN below as the stink rises in the air in the summertime and mrs. really would not like it.

Thanks, Nemo! I've never heard of that company but it's good to know buildings can be bought that cheap. They sound easy to erect, too.

While I want my barn to be extremely well built, I might be interested in this company too. The property is big enough for multiple outbuildings, after all.

BTW, I don't know why I didn't think about this sooner, but with the walls being 20 feet high, there's no reason my "storage area" shouldn't be two story. And since I'm now looking at a 50 x 100 barn footprint, that would give me a 3,000 sqft finished living space IN the barn!

Then I suggested to my wife that if we did that, we wouldn't really need a house.

For some reason, she didn't find the idea as amusing as I had.
