I hope you will not be offended as I wanted to post a snippet of what I taught in Sunday School and from the Pulpit this year as well as years past.
It is my Christmas wish for everyone.
What does Christmas mean????
From Luke Chapter 2 we read:
verse 10:
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold , I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
God sent the Angelic host to share the glorious news that prophecy has been fulfilled, Immanuel has come, and He can be found in a stable in Bethlehem!
This is GREAT NEWS for ALL peoples of the Earth!!!
verse 11
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
The great news is a SAVIOUR was BORN for ALL MEN. NOT just the JEWS. ALL MEN. ALL means ALL. The city of David is Bethlehem! THIS is where the SON of GOD was born in a STABLE because there was no room for them in the inn. In many cases, there is no room for HIM in peoples hearts either.
Even as the Innkeeper did not have room for Him, many people throughout the ages have not had room in their heart to receive HIS free GIFT of REDEMPTION and Salvation. HE alone paid with His own blood the PRICE of the forgiveness of MY and YOUR sins.
The GREAT NEWS was that if we simply by faith RECEIVE HIM as LORD that He is, HIS shed blood at Calvary washes away all our sins and makes us whiter than snow before GOD the Father. Jesus places HIS OWN RIGHTEOSNESS UPON US so GOD sees HIS righteousness and not our sins we committed. They have been PAID FOR IN FULL by this little BABY BOY who the ANGELS spoke about to the Shepherds and who was spoken of by the Prophets hundreds of years before...
verse 14
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
Thanks be to GOD for HIS unspeakable GIFT to us! HIS good will is to ALL men of all nations of the earth.
He provided a Savior, His own SON, to pay the price of our sins, and to make us righteous before HIM!
ALL we need do is TAKE HIS SON as our Savior and and ask His forgiveness.
We have been blessed with this gift! There is no cost to us for it! It cost GOD everything!
It is free for the taking. It only requires you placing your trust in HIM for your salvation.
THIS is what Christmas is all about. Tidings of GREAT JOY. They don't get much better than this.
An eternal HOME in heaven with GOD forever.
I want to wish my board members a blessed Christmas and pray that the God of Glory will shine HIS light upon YOU and give you the JOY that only comes from a little baby boy wrapped in swaddling clothes and laying in a manger!!!
