It does.
Last Saturday my report says SE was paying 5.8%.
(And, I've owned some of it since DUKE energy spun
them off back around 2007.)

I just checked . . . SE is currently worth less than
I paid for it . . but, with the dividends I've
collected over the years it's still positive. And,
when I went to Yahoo Finance the other day SE's
'Retained Earnings' were large and getting larger.

(Unlike Kinder Morgan, which had negative retained earnings
and getting worse.)

By the way, that 10 Billion you mentioned . . .
That looks to be the difference between total assets
and total liabilities . . . that right?
There are ways 'they' can lie on the balance sheet.
I personally like that Two and Half Billion in the retained earnings block.

Zimbler:

re: "Any thoughts about Conoco Phillips (COP), or Spectra Energy (SE) ?"

I don't follow either company, but here's my 30 second analysis: COP's chart looks about like XOMs, probably for similar reasons. SE's chart has more similarity to RDS's, and RDS is a company recovering from really bad news. SE's chart makes me think that the company has even greater troubles.

The strong support I see for RDS lies just a little (something like 5%) beneath its current price. That's what makes it worth adding to a watch list. Comparable support on SE lies around $13 - a full 43% lower.

SE is also in a steeper downtrend than RDS, over the same period.

I don't know if SE pays high dividends but it better. It's a falling knife. I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.

Now you'll probably tell me that SE is sitting on $10 billion in cash... lol. Oh well. I didn't spot that in my 30 seconds.
