The Dawgz had more good old fashioned hate than the North Avenue Trade School.

I was watching the end of Clemson and South Carolina. Because I am totally cool with listening to a chicken scream in mortal terror every thirty seconds, I had the sound on. Clemson had the ball and the lead, maybe around the SC 40, and the announcers agreed that obviously Clemson was going to take a knee. I glanced at the clock and the fact that SC had all time outs left, and knew as any casual fan would that Clemson could NOT just take a knee. About the time they lined up to execute an actual play, the announcers noted that obviously Clemson could not take a knee because SC had three time outs left and there was too much time. None of them know what's going on anymore, and Vern Lundquist in particular must be set out to sea on an iceberg if he will not retire, sad to say.

At least they don't make much money!

I was watching the Georgia / Georgia Tech game today and the announcers was talking about these two players who were brothers one of them playing for tech and the other for Georgia. Two plays went un-noticed by evryone in the booth. Then they switched over to this gal on the sidelines and she was talking to they mama and asked her how it felt to have her sons on opposing sides in this big game. Two more plays went by without comment from the announcers. That's when it hit me that I have seen this happen a lot lately. Seems that everybody in the booth is a COLOR COMMENTATOR and nobody wants to do play by play anymore. I tried to put the game on the radio and watch it on tv cause the radio guys are still kinda professional. No good. There is a delay between the radio and the tv broadcast and it's like looking at one game and listening to another.

Anyway, it's just another example of the dumbing down of sportscasting.
