London police hold gun amnesty after Paris attacks
London police on Friday invited gun-owners to hand in their weapons anonymously in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.
The two-week firearms surrender campaign, which will call for the submission of firearms and imitation weapons, will get underway on Monday at 7.00am (0700GMT) and run until 11.00pm on December 6.
People surrendering firearms can keep their identity private, but each weapon will be assessed by firearms officers, with some weapons being forensically checked for evidence.
"We are asking Londoners to hand in firearms and imitation weapons to avoid them falling into the wrong hands," said Detective Superintendent Stephen Clayman
