... an internet friend of mine - her mother, actually - has posted some extremely libtardish things on Facebook. One was a lengthy thread she started about NBC's 'The Sound of Music,' responded to by her libtardish friends. The other was a new thread, just a couple of days ago, about how queers should be allowed to marry, just like anyone else. Isn't love what matters?
Both times, I responded in a courteous manner but took the thread in a direction she didn't like. Both times, she deleted the thread!
On the gay marriage thread, I told her that I agreed... and that government shouldn't care who marries. It should butt out of the marriage issue entirely, allowing contract and partnership law to handle the dicey legal issues currently decided mostly by marriage, [divorce settlement, child custody, inheritance rights, etc.,] and taxing all with identical rules that are blind to one's marital status. Let religions decide who they wish to marry. Let insurers decide what parternship arrangements they wish to extend health benefits to. On the other thread, the musical, I merely defended a Carrie Underwood performance that my friend's mother and nearly all of her friends were lambasting. Carrie, for those of you who don't know, is a strong conservative, devout in her love for Christ, and a regular target of libtards. I wasn't defending her on that basis; I was just being fair about a show I enjoyed. Despite what we see in blogs, most who saw the show were entertained. (Sky-high ratings, with very few tuning out over the course of its three hours.)
What cowards these liberal assholes be! I wouldn't normally generalize like this, but I observe this same behavior in liberals ALL the time: Lob a verbal grenade by saying something controversial, indefensible and usually stupid, then running away if they're challenged. It's a big part of why I view them as gutless and mindless.
