Congress includes both the house and the senate. House controlled by republicans, senate controlled by democrats. The low numbers come from democrats who hate what the republicans in the house are doing. And from republicans who hate what the democrats in the senate are doing.

And from conservatives who hate what both of them are doing.

MSM/Democrats like to make believe that Congress's low numbers are only a result of the publics disapproval of the republicans. It's simply not true.

I was about to post the same story, Rush, but you beat me to it. In addition to Maobama's atrocious approval rating, two other numbers from the survey jumped out at me:

4 in 5 respondents felt no personal impact from the shutdown.

Congress has an approval rating of just 5 percent.

The first is interesting because it shows just how inconsequential the Federal government truly is. 800,000 workers are furloughed, about 40% of the total, yet only 20% of Americans even noticed!

AMERICANS CLEARLY AREN'T GETTING THEIR MONEY'S WORTH FROM THEIR GOVERNMENT.

The second is interesting since the number is ghastly. It's easy to conclude that Americans are dissatisfied with their President but truly outraged with their Congressmen. In analysis, however, that isn't the case.

The fact is, nobody in Congress has a 95 percent disapproval rating. Not one person. It's only Congrss as a whole that the public overwhelmingly disapproves of. If the public is asked to rate Congressmen individually, there are very, very few who will garner the sort of negative numbers that the President received today.

Looked at in that light, it's he President's approval rating of just 37 percent that's so remarkably bad. Toss in an AVERAGE approval rating over his five years in office, 49.0%, and the extent of his fall comes into perspective. (GWB's average approval was 49.4%.)

Maobama's approval rating has hit an all time low. It's as low as Bill Clinton's AT ITS WORST - and Bill Clinton was an impeached national disgrace!

Then again, Maobama is an UNimpeached national disgrace, so maybe the two aren't all that different.
