Ways for non-truckers to participate in the protest are to boycott all financial transactions over the 3-day period beginning October 11th, call in sick if at all possible and keep kids home from school if at all possible. Buy your essentials (including gas) and pay your bills ahead of time, or do without for a few days. See no movies, rent no videos, and eat at home. Shut things down - for just a few days. For that matter, the 11th is a Friday, so school and work need to be missed by most households just once.
