The Internet is killing TPTB
In years past, this hysteria about Syria ginned up by our current administration would have been manifested into an attack already.
The internet is killing the plans of TPTB - it's just killing them. The ability of the people to really analyze various governmental provocative stunts is fueling a deep seated fury. To wit: Kerry saying it's harder to 'govern' with the internet. The former head of the NSA proposing a 'different' internet similar to China's? Why? Because our government wants to censor information, and promote propaganda. It's no wonder that the U.S. government desperately feels the need to spy on all Americans.
And how about the US.senate; proposing to redefine what a 'journalist' is - with the unstated goal of prosecuting anyone who spreads an 'inconvenient truth' with such ruthlessness, that people will be afraid to tell the truth.
I fully expect any number of proposals to flow from 'our' congress - shrouded in Orwellian names - such as the Freedom of Internet Act - to be submitted to congress. Anything to silence the enemy. The enemy? Many has this delusion that our leaders are benevolent & love their constituents. In reality, the average elected official HATES to deal with, and answer to, their constituents. To vast majority of elected reps, the electorate IS the enemy.
And, watching our elected reps best laid plans get ruined by the people they claim to represent, is something I relish. And, they will certainly try to get rid of this thorn in their side.
