Zimbler0:

If you include stock as part of the pay, Apple paid its CEO quite well. Jack Welch (GE) was paid well too. These guys made huge amounts of money... and deserved it.

Only Rush can say for sure, but read his post again. I think you misunderstood him. It didn't sound to me as if he was advocating government piracy of corporate profits. Only an asshole Democrat would advocate that! I think he was saying that government has been doing that (in a most unethical and lawless manner), effectively interceding in the capitalist process and redirecting profits into its own coffers.

I agree with him and fear that government is going to do a lot more of this in the future. That (and money printing which is tantamount to the same thing, but directed at everyone) is the only economic plan the assholes have. I also agree with your assertion that "Good old capitalist competition IS the answer." Government has no business getting its thieving hands anywhere near "Good old capitalist competition" - except when fraud, crime or monopolistic practices are preventing said competition from occurring.

Rush> A purpose of the US government is to assure that transfer is not completed.

Rush,
I can no longer see you as a 'conservative'.

'Government Control' - which appears to be what you
are espousing is NOT the answer.

Good old capitalist competition IS the answer.

If I got three companies all trying to sell me a
similar product the one which sells me the best
product at the lowest price with the highest quality
is the one I'm going to buy. And, I'd bet that that
is the company which pays its CEO the least.

Zim.
