are espousing is NOT the answer.
Good old capitalist competition IS the answer.
If I got three companies all trying to sell me a
similar product the one which sells me the best
product at the lowest price with the highest quality
is the one I'm going to buy. And, I'd bet that that
is the company which pays its CEO the least.
The sole purpose of Corporations is to redistribute wealth from their customers to their owners. A purpose of the US government is to assure that transfer is not completed.
