Due - Had to go look the Eagleford up - it is the 'source' rock under the Austin Chalk play - which boomed back in the late 70's early 80's. It is a Central, South and East Texas 'oil shale'. Fraccing where the Austin Chalk was productive isn't going to produce much - because in those locations the hydrocarbons in the Eagleford already moved up into the Austin (according to literature). However, further south, the Eagleford does have potential - because the Austin Chalk becomes much more impervious - serving as a reservoir seal. The depths are from 5,000 to 14,000 feet - remains to be seen whether it will be oil productive or gas prone.
The Barnett Shale, NorthEast Texas (ie. DFW surrounding) - is almost entirely Gas productive.
Lamecherry is really out in left field when he starts talking about oil exploration and production - especially in his 'sky is falling' predictions of potential catastrophes from 'oil spills' - So far out in left field - he should can it, and stick to what he knows. Ditto on the Alaska reserves.
As to his speculation about wet back labor dominating the Texas Oil fields - meaning a loss in jobs for American Citizens - he is definitely full of sh*t. In the OIL FIELD - being able to speak and understand ENGLISH - (in the range of 'excellent language' skills) is absolutely essential. Just a little thought about it - one would realize that language problems in such dangerous work simply are not acceptable. Same thing goes for sales, and management opps - which seem to be booming in the Eagleford play.
I find this statement from Lamecherry to be the most revealing about his ignorance and biases about the oil field.
"Some of the cow patties of South Dakota saw money in this, but some who saw some of the best ag land in the country about to be turned into cancer soaked toxic chemical spills thought a completely different judgment."
Well, Lamecherry - then get the F' off the internet, and walk wherever you go. Hope it's cold, real cold up there, in the winter also. No tolerance any longer for this type of ignorance.
