Indeed. Ya gotta wonder how much effect the money (spent by both sides in roughly equivalent amounts) has in the 'battleground states'. The Republican campaigns have a critical mass of information that must be presented simply to counter the leftward tilt of the mainstream media. Beyond that, how many minds are actually changed by all the ads? There has been more tv advertising in this campaign than ever before.

We just got back from casting our votes. It was lively at the municipal bldg and a bit cramped in the meeting room compared to the gymnasium at the community center where voting usually takes place. The community center is being used as a shelter and distribution center as many in the township are still without electricity.

The good turnout in our very Republican town in a very Republican county in a very Democrat state portends well for Romney. It signals that Republicans are motivated.

Very interesting - and starts me to thinking about 'cause and effect'.

Several questions arise - such as, does such thinking about 'swing state' importance, and placement of priorities on ONLY those states - beg the question of 'what would really happen' if monies were spent in other states - not just piddling amounts - but significant amounts.

It is quite possible that this 'polarization' of spending actually increases the polarization of the country - because there is no 'cross-pollinating', no exposing of those in 'solid' states to other ideas on how things can be.

A lot of cogitatin' creatin contracting of the ole grey matter muscles being stimulated by such an obvious source of potential mischief.
