Took me a bit to have it all soak in - no pun intended.
Pretty extensive damage in that strip - not surprising, given the insane location of those houses/development in the first place.
Just like the Gulf Coast - the first 1/4 mile from the land/gulf boundary suffers the most damage. Katrina damage was even greater than what you are seeing in this strip - along the Alabama/Mississippi Coast Line.
I spent a lot of time downloading (a real bear back then) hundreds and hundreds of megs to view the damage - before and after. Used 'side by side' (two monitors) comparison to see it - was pretty dramatic - just like this. I prefer the sidebyside method - rather than the 'transparent' layer method. Much quicker - both broad scale and micro - assessment possible.
As always - it's NOT the 'wind speed' causing the damage being seen here - this is SURGE DAMAGE. Moving Water is much more formidable.
Thanks, Due - good source of solid info.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good ...
