The name kept eluding me .... first saw this fire capability when the movie "The Green Berets" (based on a true story in Nam) was released. The AC-47 was the forerunner - and the movie actually used C-130's in it's filming.

SPOOKY is it's name - and spooky is what they feel.

And yes, there WAS an AC-130 ON STATION during the attack. The targets were being lazed - and they do NOT laze targets unless their is ordinance ready and able to be put on the target. (Obvious reason - lasers expose your position.)
