Devotion to ritual does not equate to being faithful.
Heck, any ocd personality can be said to be devoted to ritual.

The topic of ritual can be expounded upon. Neither completely good nor completely bad.

Ritual can be used to hide empty hearts.

And ritual can be used to remove the distractions of constant change to allow us to meditate on that which is truly important.

Thanks, Dave. I appreciate the kind thoughts, but I'm not a very devout fellow when it comes to ritual. I did take my great grandfather's shofar from its case and managed to sputter out a few good blasts that echoed in the morning fog. Plenty to atone for.
