For some reason this whole article brings to mind the Texas A&M annual concrete canoe races sponsored by the Engineering Dept. Haven't checked on them lately to see if they still run them.

The concrete canoe competition, which was organized by the American Society of Civil Engineers, is held every year for school teams from all over the region. The teams are limited to meeting a list of criteria, the concrete must pass a variety of tests, and the canoe is constrained to specified physical dimensions. Eventually, the teams race their canoes and the first place team advances onto the national competition.

The Parthenon floor does indeed rise in the middle, but it doesn't follow the curvature of the earth.

The length of the Parthenon is just under 80 meters. The curvature of the Earth over that distance is less than .05mm, but the rise in the Parthenon floor is over 6cm.

Read the transcript at the link I provided for some detail about the curved lines of the Greek masterpiece.
