The Parthenon floor does indeed rise in the middle, but it doesn't follow the curvature of the earth.

The length of the Parthenon is just under 80 meters. The curvature of the Earth over that distance is less than .05mm, but the rise in the Parthenon floor is over 6cm.

I was told by someone whle visiting at the replica in Nashville that the foundation for theparthenon follows the contour of the earth and is NOT just flat.

That just fascinates me.

I totally agree with you regarding the structural integrity and more so how the engineering and architecture of the ancients does appear to be more advanced than what we do today.

I have a signed and numbered black and white drawing of that structure in Nashville from the artist. Did you check out those 4 ton bronze doors you can push open with one finger? Amazing.
