Yeh...here in 'Jersey we use the same word; generally preceeded by a somewhat stronger imprecation.

obamba is an intellectual elitist. He's not any smarter than the rest of us, but he thinks he is and so does the media and academia. He thinks he is the worlds foremost authority on what is right and what is wrong and he feels that he is qualified to tell the rest of us what the "right thing to do" is and then force us to do it whether we agree or not. In short, he has a "controlling" personality and is not hospitable to those who resist his "fatherly" advice. Here in the south, we call people like that "Assholes!"
