ICC rejects Palestinian request
In his decision from Yesterday, the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Decided that "The Rome Statute provides no authority for the Office of the Prosecutor to adopt a method to define the term “State" and reminds the Palestinians that the "the current status granted to Palestine by the United Nations General Assembly is that of “observer”, not as a “Non‐member State."
While Israel welcomes the decision on the lack of ICC jurisdiction, it has reservations regarding some of the legal pronouncements and assumptions in the Prosecutor's statement.
