Well, in a lot of ways, Linda, the American people have become so jaded by the unethical, unconstitutional actions of politicians that they throw up their hands and don't want to deal with it, anymore. They ignore it in hopes that they can go on with their lives without really being affected by what goes on in the putrid halls of government. BUT, that is a big mistake ... you have to deal with problems when they first crop up, not ignore them and allow them to fester and get worse. American citizens need to take personal responsibility for their own lives and they need to hold their politicians to account for governing in accordance with the rule of law.
