It is the best of times and the worst of times...
In another few years, will such procedures be rationed or waitlisted for far too long because of the Obamacare bureaucracy (death panels)?
I have an individual Horizon BC/BS HMO that costs $815/month. (NJ law limits rate increases to 15%/year and they push up to the limit annually.) They insisted on an exercise stress test, then a nuclear stress test for which they paid over $8000. I don't know the cost of the angiogram/angioplasty but I haven't even had a co-pay for any of it. The two diagnostic tests and outpatient procedure were scheduled and performed within a ten-day period. I'm fortunate to have one of the best cardiac facilities in the country nearby.
In socialist Ontario, the wait time for just the angiogram is 25 days. The wait time for an MRI is 90 days!
