Highlights: the Cato Institute Eviscerates Obamacare’s Individual Mandate ( http://directorblue.blogspot.com/2012/02/highlights-cato-institute-eviscerates.html )

It is both telling and tragic that our hopes for individual sovereignty in this country now rest in the hands of one or two individuals on the Supreme Court.

And if Obama is reelected, he will likely have the chance to further stuff the court with doctrinaire radicals like Elena Kagan. And this Republic would be doomed.

The Republic would be doomed?

The Republic is dead, and has been for a long time. The corrupt, bribery-driven, crony-capitalist, mob-rule oligarchy we have today is as far from the Republic envisioned by the Framers as it could be. We are governed by a Leviathan tyranny, and pretending that this monstrosity is still a Republic is as self-deluding as the insanity leftists gorge themselves upon.

We need to understand the reality we are facing, if we are to deal with it at all. The Republic died in the early part of the last century. We live in its ruins. Our project is not to save something that no longer exists. It is to find ways to rebuild it – from scratch, if necessary.
