No, I didn't catch demons. And I never thought of Wikipedia, often a good place to start on just about anything.

Demons, games, comics. Was their presumably first iniitiative -- Stratfor -- a game to them or did they have some purpose. Moved on to serious matters, certainly.

Question becomes, are these guys hackers on a lark or not? Are they a front for a militia or cell(s)? If so, who is hacking them? In the case of gangs and inmates, it's Hez/alQ via the drug cartels in Latin America. Have they moved on to hackers? That's only one scenario, of course.

This particular 'anonymous' is relative to the 'hacktivists' opposing controls on the internet.

The nature of the 'anonymous' handle leaves it open for confusion and abuse.

Legion in this case references the fifth definition you quoted, implying 'great numbers'. You missed, however, the Biblical reference to demons.
