Due, thanks, wasn't thinking.

I don't have money for a camera. If I did I'd buy a matress or a bike. I'll be without all three. I also wouldn't buy a used camera unless it was from a friend. But I'll save this.

Wouldn't the Sony require a mount for Minolta lenses?

Linda. It's called a 'long lens' regardless of its physical size. 'Long' refers to its 500mm focal length.

I think that the Sony A700 DSLR would accept that lens. Here's one for less than $400 on Ebay:
