btw, Giuliani was looking to stay past term limits in NYC after 9/11. He was shot down before he got started. Bloomberg pulled it off. All at the Mayor level, of course.

First, can he do an end run around the election -- kill the election for national security reasons or postpone it while we're at war?

...there have been elections held in every war we have ever been involved in. I suspect there are contingency operations for any such presidential aspirations. The first time I ever heard of the possibility of a prez not steppin down was Clinton, then I heard the libs saying GW wouldn't step down and now Obamba. I suspect Obamba is the most likely to try such a stunt.
