If al Qaeda-inspired, it might mark a change in their strategy from wanting to engage us in many theaters, to wanting us out. Maybe this means we're hurting them and they want to regroup again. Maybe it means they want us out because they have a cookie-cutter means of taking over, as they did in the tribal regions. But that was when there was an active jihad in AfPak and if we're gone, what's their game. Where are they targeting next?
They might want the heat off because they have other fish to fry, like Turkey, and maybe they want to contend with Arab Springs and Iraq being turned loose.
