Seems like a good idea to me, although putting the FBI and CIA under the same leadership might have brought some gains in both and we DO have an intel issue in the US now. So I wonder if this agency is reaping any benefits.

However, I have my doubts. I attended an emergency management meeting locally here with reps from LIPA and Homeland Security and low and behold the Homeland Security guy was completely unprepared to talk terrorism issues. He was there for hurricane preparedness. Go figure.

I like dumping Education. Centralization is Soviet era noncense and the Feds have screwed up more than they fix. What they ught to fix, if anything is the Leftist takeover that's taking us down from within.

HUD? What an outrage government is in business that should be private sector.

This would save a bundle, no doubt.

I'll help you Rick.

Were I to be elected (I'm not running) I'd end by Executive Order:

● Education (The States should be the ones with this responsibility)

● Homeland Security (folded back into the CIA and FBI where it belongs)

● Housing and Urban Development (bye-bye Fannie/Freddie!)

And that's what I'd call "a good start."

Oh, and it's better - those are departments. Agencies are under departments. (e.g. Fannie is an agency, HUD is a department.) So Perry not only hosed up the answer he doesn't understand the hierarchy of the Executive branch either!

Since Rick couldn't remember what to kill or how the very branch of government he wants to head is organized it's rather obvious that he destroyed his own Executive Office of The President

I love the way Perry kept looking to Ron Paul for help. RP fed Perry a correct answer; the EPA is an independent AGENCY that he would eliminate along with 5 DEPARTMENTS (Commerce, Education, Energy, Interior and Housing & Urban Development. ) Perry backpedaled that answer, but after the debate said that the third 'agency' he would eliminate is the DoE.

Put a fork in him; he's done.
