How do ya like that, leaves doin' in the trees. Reminds me I had intended to pick up a battery-operated lantern. Mine uses three candles, an old LL Bean. Nice effect, but not enough light for anything meaningful. Did pick up a water bag after that last hurricane. Let's see, what else do I need.... I doubt LI will get much, if any snow. Warming waters of the Atlantic/LI Sound...

It's good that it's gonna be clear today, cuz I still have to take up the callas and taro. Also gotta shelter the brugs which are flowering in defiance of the cold.

Gonna frost tonight and it's supposed to snow all day here tomorrow! From the NWS:

...a significant weather system will be moving across the area during the first part of the long range. Low pressure along the Carolina coast at 12z Sat will deepen and move up along the coast during the day then into New England Sat night. A large area of quantitative precipitation forecast will spread south to north Sat and persist 12 to 18 hours. Temperatures across the north and western areas favor snow with significant accumulations and areas south and east will have a soaking rain with 1 to 2 inches possible. The rain/snow line will like meander across a line between southern Berks County PA and southern Morris city New Jersey. Exact snowfall totals are difficult to Pin-Point...and our latest totals are higher than previous forecast. Our totals are still lower than those offered by NCEP-wwd. This will likely be a high impact event due to the fact that many leaves remain on the trees and the weight of the snow will probably bring down numerous branches and power lines. Prepare for power outages. Precipitation ends Sat night and skies should become mostly clear by sunrise sun.
