Why Do 'Conservatives' Hate Ron Paul? It All Comes Down To Israel

It has taken me quite awhile to figure out why there is so much vitriol hurled at Congressman Ron Paul from those on the right, Republicans and those who call themselves conservatives. I am not one of those die hard Ron Paul supporters, but I am also not one of those hate filled faux conservatives who vilify him as the second coming of Satan. His supporters are fanatical and sometimes make him look like a kook, along with themselves, and take the other tack of making him out to be the second coming - like Obama supporters.

For the most part the hatred against Ron Paul couldn't be due to his stances on the issues - most of them are constitutionalist in nature and fall well within the mainstream of conservative viewpoints. For instance his bill to audit the Federal Reserve. He also stands for ending foreign aid, another conservative platform. However, this is where he runs into problems.

There is a concerted effort in the Republican party, and among some conservatives, to support Israel at all costs. They go so far as even supporting Israel over the United States of America and to the ultimate detriment of our country. In other words it's Israel first. The same people calling for an end to foreign aid want to make exceptions. This is the same argument liberals use. Some liberals are probably willing to end foreign aid to some countries, as long as you don't end aid to countries they prefer (maybe some African country for instance). Paul doesn't take this stance and that is why he is now being branded as an anti-semite. Amazingly those who are on the right are using the same tactics of those on the left. When it comes to immigration, you can't simply want laws to be enforced for the good of our country - oh no! - you must be a racist and hater. Now people on the right are using this against Ron Paul.

As with anything, making exceptions when it comes to policy making leads down the road to ruin. At that point it comes down to who is making the exceptions. Let us take the hated Health Care Reform bill. How much outrage is there for all of those who are receiving waivers? Who made those decisions? The right would say that Obama is giving his friends and supporters special treatment. It is a policy decisions with caveats and as with all decisions as such, who gets the caveat is decided by those who are in power at the time. The reality is that laws and decisions and policy should be put in place as if your worst enemy would end up in power the next time around. Passing a law and then laughing all the way to the bank because you can now crack down on your opposition, will soon come back to haunt you when your opponent ends up in power and they then use it against you.

I know all of the arguments for supporting Israel. I've heard them all. I have also heard the arguments from those who oppose all foreign aid. Those out there who are anti-Paul will be the first to pull out the founding fathers. Well, pull some out and take a look, most of them argued that we stay out of interference in foreign affairs and simply maintain friendly relations and trade. That of course has not happened throughout our country's history and now the only reason people deal with us is because we are bribing them, propping them up with foreign welfare payments. As soon as we stop bribing them, their true feelings will be known, even more than they are already outspoken against us while we pour billions into them year after year.

Anyone who would dub Ron Paul an anti-semite over his stance that foreign aid should be halted to all countries is a disgrace to themselves. It's okay to disagree with him, but the hatred coming from the right against him is turning those like me even more against the Republican machine. If you put Israel - or any country for that matter - before the United States I ask you to move to that country and relieve us of your anti-American and unpatriotic stance. If those countries are so amazing, get on a plane and move your stuff there, I'm sure they'd welcome you.

Idiots like David Horowitz, who would actually entitle a headline as "Ron Paul Is A Vicious Anti-Semite and Anti-American and Conservatives Need To Wash Their Hands of Him", should be ridiculed and removed from your reading list as someone who is not serious. He falls in line with the playground tactics those of La Raza and the Southern Poverty Law Center use. Here's why Horowitz calls Ron Paul a "vicious anti-semite".

Representative Ron Paul (R-TX) has just introduced an amendment to end all U.S. aid to Israel. The amendment could be voted on before the day is over. I need your help right now to stop this ill-conceived proposal!

Therefore Ron Paul must be a "vicious anti-semite" who wants to exterminate all the Jews. What a vile, filthy and outright lie of a thing to say. David Horowitz is a disgusting man having used this tactic and I ask you to make note of him and those of his ilk, so that the next idiotic thing he/they spew you are sure to throw it out with the trash where it belongs. You can disagree with someone's reasoning, maybe you like foreign aid, but the outright stamping of someone with the brand of "Jew hater" over a general stance for all is just a lie and the sign of a mind with no ability to reason or use critical thinking. It is the sign of laziness. And just think this guy gets paid to write this tripe and some people actually read it! The worst part is he claims to be on the right, which paints anyone right-of-center as a lunatic like himself. Thanks Horowitz, now go join the liberals where you belong with your race card rants when you have no argument.

Ending foreign aid means ending foreign aid you can't pick and choose. You can't have favorites - for when the next person ends up in power his favorite will surely not be your own.
