Professor,
In my opinion only, the only message that came out loud and clear in those statements from Congressman Paul is that while he have a very good handle on the economic leadership needed to be President, he really hasn't a clue regarding the enemy.

The United States has a presence in Saudi Arabia as an invited guest and sometime guardian there.

The real problem is the CULT, not the U.S. military base which is in several places in that part of the world, including the Sea as you well know.

Ron Paul chooses to stay ignorant regarding Muslim Islaamic goals that extremists and non-extremists alike believe to their very cores, which means they are a threat, a real threat, to anyone who does not accept their brand of religion.

I was amazed that Paul was as ignorant as he was and even more amazed that he actually opened his mouth a second time and made it even worse.

Paul is a a good candidate on one count and a bad choice for me when it comes to understanding the very real threat of Islam.

Just my opinion and I am sure yours is different but I just wanted to share mine publicly as well.

The best to you sir!

micro....

While the message may not be savory to MANY ears - there IS a very valid message in what Ron Paul is saying.

Time for us to GET THE HELL OUT of other countries - and quit acting like self-appointed 'guardians of the world'.

Let them protect their own freaking selves.

This is 100% correct:

The purpose of al Qaeda was to attack us, invite us over there, where they can target us…. but we're there occupying their land. And if we think that we can do that and not have retaliation, we're kidding ourselves.

To state that it is INCORRECT - one does not properly understand precisely what Al Quaeda stated - and the mindset of the muslim mind. One does NOT have to like it - but one had better listen to it very carefully.

Maniati stated this VERY explicitly years ago - I argued with him at the time. This was especially in relation to our invasion of Iran - which he opposed.

I was flat assed wrong. He was correct.
