"The Palestinian Issue" is a dodge. The Saudis, the Egyptians, the Jordanians, and the Syrians don't give a damn about the Palestinians ... they're just dog meat in their eyes. If Israel didn't exist, then the Muslim-powers-that-be wouldn't need the Palestinians to use as leverage. And in turn, if the Palestinians had no use as leverage, the Muslim-powers-that-be would have already invaded, killed all of the Palestinians, and carved up Palestine for their own, by now. That's the true irony of the Palestinian situation ... Israel has been far, far more humane and civilized in their interactions with the Palestinians than the other Muslims would have ever been.

B, well said. I think the problem's broader than Iran. The Saudis are in control of the Palestinian issue, with Egypt. Iran may be in that mix, too, but I doubt they're involved in determining Palestinian strategy, like having them take this approach in the first place. That's conjecture, though.
