DGP Yes sir, there is something to be said for using an Uninterruptible Power Supply, UPS, especially for sensitive electronic devices such as computers. May I ask a quick question please? Have you ever purchased a very high quality surge protector that protects over 100,000 joules rating? The inexpensive ones are not worth a dime but the higher resistance ones actually do work.
You can get them from the mid twenties to over thirty dollars depending on the store. The battery backup is good for shutting off the computer if the power fails and mine came with a program that will automatically and safely shut off my computer after so many minutes of running on battery power. Unfortunately, the BATTERY on these things do get worn out and need replacing. I would suggest a GOOD surge protector, (check the joule ratings, the higher the better) as it has no batteries to replace and protects against electrical surges and spikes. the best, micro... |
