Good morning, micro. It's nice and sunny today, I'm hoping the ground hardens up before the storm!

I bought an overflowing cart of food last night. Water was off the shelves, of course. I have some, but with that tree out there, I suspect we'll be trapped in here without electricity for a time. I forgot I had a garbage bag of soda bottles in the trunk and one in the garage, so I'm going to fill those with water in case we need it for toilets. Not to mention any buckets we have.

Yep, I think we should have a mass appeal to the guy upstairs!

We used to go to the beach when these storms aproach. Ah for the carefree days. Very Happy

Linda,

I would be concerned about flying debris breaking windows. 80 MPH winds are very strong and you cannot drive a car in them without being blown around.

Can it lift the roof? Depends on how well it is secured. Likely the roof will stay put but I suspect plenty of roof damage is going to occur with the shingles anyway.

If you are staying, stock up on some batteries and flashlights and food that does not need to be cooked with electric appliances.

Chances are you will lose electric power. I told my daughter in Richmond last night to make sure their gas grill had propane in the tank because they could be using it to cook on.

BTW, I know ONE who spoke and the storm ceased and the waters calmed immediately. I'll talk to HIM about it for you.

Take care and be prepared and keep safety first in mind.

the best,

micro...
