dg, We're probably going to get creamed, if wind comes along with it. We had 8-10" around here and that loosens the soil. If we get a hurricane, a lot of trees can be uprooted. I'm not looking forward to that.

I went to an emergency preparedness meeting the other day. They said when Hurricane Bob went by (not a direct hit) off the coast, 400,000 people were out of electricity. Then, 5' circumference trees were uprooted when there was a microburst a few weeks ago. That wasn't close by, but close enough. I'm not sure where it was, western LI, probably 30 miles give or take.

This could be worse, if the ground's already soggy. I don't see how it could have dried out already...
