We might get a direct hit by Hurricane Irene Sunday:

The emergency preparedness guys tonight (local state senator had a session) said we might get this hurricane Sunday and it could go to cat 3. I somehow doubt that, but what do I know. The water temps are warmest now and that supposedly slows down hrricanes. At any rate, this one bears watching as the weekend approaches....

Wind speeds This one suggests it will peter out as it heads up the coast.
