Civilization is tenuous
I find this all very tragic. The Brits were always known for their civilized conduct and stiff upper lip.
When we toured the UK, years ago, they were considering arming the police. It was that peace-loving and safe. In 2000, the Bobbies were armed. Now, they need tanks. Maybe it is a generational thing. Maybe it's the sheer numbers of people produce a certain percenagae of nut cases. Or maybe the economy is just that bad. Whether the Muslim youth did the torching, they seem to have set th eprecedent. The fire I saw turned out to be the 100 year old furniture factory. Horrible fire.
