It's disappointing that the Egyptian Army's not stepping up to the plate.

And amazing that one man could hold that country together with all this brewing. Now we see in both Iraq and Egypt -- when dictators go, chaos reins and the vacumns are not naturally filled by the good guys. Better, it seems, to have a democratic system where there is a farm system for leaders so there is continuity across 'regimes.'

Meanwhile, tens of thousands calling for sharia and Islamic state.

"Israeli forces deployed the length of the Egyptian border likewise stood aside while El Arish was occupied and terrorized by al Qaeda."

"... likewise stood aside ..." - EXCUSE ME???!!!

1. El Arish is somewhere around 150 miles from the Israeli border.

2. The only way Israeli forces could have possibly "likewise stood aside" is if the al Qaeda raiders were willingly allowed to come through Israeli territory and cross the Israeli/Egypt border on their way to attack El Arish. Of course, that didn't happen at all ... the al Qaeda attack force came from within the Sinai.

3. The Israeli military cannot just go across the Egyptian border, drive 150 miles inside Eqyptian territory, and wage war on a rampaging al Qaeda group that will certainly result in some collateral casualties to Eqyptian civilians! What kind of reaction do you think that kind of move would receive, eh?!

Good grief! This is THE MOST RIDICULOUSLY POOR CHOICE OF WORDS I have seen in quite some time ... and THAT is saying a hell of a lot!!! Someone literally needs to have their ass kicked up to their shoulder blades for that statement. Rolling Eyes
