Linda - I think that dealing with muslims - training them militarily in any way, shape, form or manner - is simply NUTS.

Don't care what the 'rationals' are - it NEVER works - and will always come back to bite us in the ass.

Let Iran go in, take over Iraq. They can have it.

The people in Iraq allowed sodamn insane to come to power and stay in power. The nutcases are just as bad now - but no-one has the 'central' power to take over where sodamn left off .... BUT IF WE CONTINUE TO TRAIN THE SONS OF BITCHES - I will guaran-damn-tee you that SOMEONE will be able to use that training for their own nefarious purposes - and he'll have a well trained military to do it with.

As I said - absolutely insane. As was Afghanistan involvement when the Russky's were 'going after em'.
We would have been MILES ahead if the Russky's had actually conquered those a-holes.

Sorry - calling it as I see it. The regimes that are left, the people - the RELIGION THEY PRACTICE to continues to be as repressive and EVIL as it has always been - no matter who is in charge.

We shouldn't be stepping in **it.

Monkey, I have mixed emotions on this.

One side of the argument is what are we nuts training our enemies? The counter-argument is in Iraq's case, Iran would walk in, if they don't have a military, they're goners. And if we teach them, they are predictable and under-armed, thereby giving us an advantage.

just thoughts, what do you think?
